What's new for February in Wellness?

Thank you for your participation in the Fall Prevention Open House on January 15th.  I hope the information provided proved helpful and that you are taking advantage of the Fall Prevention classes.  This month it is time to "Train Your Brain".  Did you know that just like your body, your memory can get out of shape?  The Wellness Center will be offering a "Train Your Brain" class on Fridays at 2:00 p. m. beginning February 19th.  Learn to focus better and remember more in this fun-filled class.  Training tidbits on how nutrition and exercise enhance your brainpower will be inlcuded.  We're hoping that Brain Training will become a part of your everyday routine.

Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death for one in three American women.  To raise awareness and promote education of this deadly disease the American Heart Association is sponsoring National Wear Red day on February 5th.  By wearing red, we can bring a voice to this silent killer.  We can listen to what our hearts are telling us, talk to our doctors and spread the word to our family, friends and community about making the right choices and taking action when it comes to exercise and nutrition.  Please stop by the Wellness Center on the 5th to pick up important information on women's heart health as well as red dress pins donated by the American Heart Association.
