Keeping Active in Retirement - Trips, Travel, and More

What is your idea of the perfect day? Some active retirees like to take part in daily exercise classes to get their juices flowing or engage a few friends in an afternoon bridge game. Perhaps you would like to volunteer for a committee, join a book club, or pursue your own personal interests. For many residents there’s nothing better than relaxing on the porch reading a good book or going for a quiet stroll down a tranquil country path.

At Carroll Lutheran Village you can keep active by doing whatever you like, whenever you like, for as long as you like. Some residents like to go antiquing in town, visit art museums, and see the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and the National Symphony Orchestra in Baltimore and Washington, D.C. Others have decided to broaden their education by taking courses at Carroll Community College or McDaniel College. In fact, when you gather 12 residents together, Carroll Community College will send a teacher to the Carroll Lutheran Village campus!

If your active retirement includes golf, there are four golf courses nearby. If you like tennis, there are tennis courts minutes from your door. Some residents volunteer at the local food bank, hospice, historical society and arts council. Others tutor at the Lutheran School nearby or in the Carroll County public school system. Still others volunteer at Carroll Hospital Center. Whatever you want to do, Carroll Lutheran Village will help you do it. We may even provide the transportation. However you choose to make each day the perfect day, it is nice to know there are lots of choices and opportunities available to you.
